Lane Zirnhelt – Chief Operating Officer, Summit Aviation Group

Lane oversees the commercial and operational aspects of the Summit Aviation Group including both Summit Helicopters and Summit Air. He provides overall vision and strategic direction for the Summit Aviation Group. Lane is a Chartered Accountant by trade with over 25 years of experience in financial and operational management, in a wide range of industries with a focus in Aviation and cultivating safety cultures.

Myles Cane – Senior Vice President Operations & Accountable Executive

As Senior Vice President, Operations, for Summit Air, Myles is responsible for ongoing compliance with all Canadian Aviation Regulations. He holds responsibility for the Summit Air Safety Management System (SMS) and oversees all airline operational areas, including flight, maintenance and quality, ground, and cargo. Myles also plays a key role in customer relations and business development. Myles also holds a Transport Canada AME M1 and M2 licenses, and an Airline Transport Pilots License (ATPL). Myles’ “hands-on” management style fully supports Summit’s strong safety and organizational culture.

Matthew McElligott – Vice President, Business Development

Matthew has top-line revenue oversight for the Summit Aviation Group, leading the Commercial Teams for both Summit Air and Summit Helicopters. Matthew has two decades of experience in various marketing and business development roles and is responsible for both the management of current clients and partnerships, as well as working with new clients to shape and deliver customized aviation solutions.

Devin Lyall  – Chief Pilot

Devin is responsible for the management of all of Summit Air’s pilots. In his daily duties, Devin also works interactively with Summit Air’s dispatch, ground operations, and flight attendant teams to ensure the operation as a whole is functioning and communicating in accordance with the Company Operations Manual and Transport Canada Regulatory Requirements. Devin brings over 10,000 hours and over 25 years of aviation experience to his role with Summit Air.  He has spent the majority of his career in the Canadian Arctic flying both passenger and freight aircraft including the civilian Hercules and Summit’s RJ’s and ATR’s.  Devin has also achieved over 10 years of experience in senior management roles at Summit Air.

Chuck Depew – Director, Flight Operations

As the Director of Flight Operations, Chuck is responsible for overseeing and effectively managing all flight operations activities and shares the co-responsibility of the SMS program. His area of oversight includes pilots, flight attendants, dispatch, OCC, and SMS. Chuck has been with Summit since 2006 and has grown with the company in numerous roles, including D228 Captain, Dash 8 Captain, ATR Captain, Training Captain, Approved Check Pilot, General Manager, and Operations Manager. He offers 12 years of management experience with a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a diploma in Aviation.

Eric Tse – Director, Finance

As Director of Finance, Eric oversees all financial operations for the Summit Aviation Group including both Summit Air and Summit Helicopters. Eric and his team are responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis. Eric provides financial input pertaining to potential business opportunities, aircraft acquisitions, and capital investments. As a Chartered Professional Accountant, and with over 11 years of progressive experience, Eric has provided guidance and judgement on key business decisions to ensure the Summit Aviation Group is able to provide the most effective aviation solutions for all clients.

Axel Jung – Director, Maintenance

As Director, Maintenance, Axel is accountable for making sure that Transport Canada and company safety regulations are being adhered to. He ensures that every aircraft is airworthy, that all flight crews are correctly qualified and trained in the most up to date mechanical practices, and that all work practices are done so in adherence to Summit Air’s safety regulations. Axel brings over 20 years of maintenance experience to the Summit Air group.

Kim Miller – Director, Safety

Kim Miller joined the Summit Air Team in June 2009. Bringing over 20 years of safety management, she manages Summit’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Assurance program, which encompasses flight operations and maintenance. She is responsible for ensuring company safety standards, manuals, policies, and procedures are effective and comply with Transport Canada Regulations and Standards.
