Summit Air To Provide Dornier Expertise To Susi Air Of Indonesia

April 1, 2014

The Summit Aviation Group is pleased to announce it has entered into a 24-month lease agreement with Susi Air of Indonesia. Susi Air will lease as many as four of Summit’s signature Dornier 228’s for use in scheduled passenger movements throughout Indonesia.

Summit has operated Dornier’s for over 10 years in Canada’s Arctic and is the largest Dornier 228 operator in the world. As part of the agreement, Summit will provide aircraft, flight crews and maintenance support to Susi Air as they enter the twin-engine market.

“This agreement diversifies our current business model and allows us to balance out the hills and valleys of aircraft utilization we experience with our existing charter operations,” says Summit president Rob Mauracher. “And, by sharing our best practices with Susi Air in a new geographical market, we will be expanding our own presence for the benefit of both new and existing customers.”
