Lane Zirnhelt – Chief Operation Officer, Summit Aviation Group
Lane joined Summit in August 2015 and has the responsibility of overseeing the commercial and operational aspects of both Summit Air and Summit Helicopters.
A Certified Professional Accountant by trade, Lane has over 18 years of business and management experience and has been working directly within the aviation industry since 2004. Prior to joining the Summit Aviation group, Lane was a partner with KPMG LLP.
Myles Cane – Senior Vice President Operations & Accountable Executive
With 23 years of aviation-related experience, Myles has overall accountability for the safe and reliable operation of Summit Air’s fleet. The role includes oversight of Safety, Flight Operations, Operations Control, Maintenance, Ground Operations, and Cabin Safety.
Myles got his start in aviation at the age of 17 in Yellowknife. He is currently a qualified M1/M2 AME as well as an ATPL Pilot with ACP delegation.
Matthew McElligott – Vice President, Business Development
Matthew has been with Summit Air since 2012 and is responsible for all marketing and business development initiatives within the company. In addition to seeking out new business opportunities, Matthew is also responsible for the oversight and maintenance of Summit Air’s existing customer and partner relationships.
A relative newcomer to aviation prior to joining the Summit team, Matthew brings over a decade of experience in various marketing and customer management roles with a strong focus on logistics.
Kim Miller – Director, Safety & PMSMS
Kim is responsible for overseeing and growing the safety and quality programs for Summit Air. Kim provides tactical and strategic leadership for the implementation, development, and use of HS&E programs and also works on the development of short-term and long-term operational safety objectives for Summit Air.
Kim has 14 years of aviation experience in the north and has worked her way up through the organization working both in maintenance tech records and as a pilot flying the Navajo and Dornier 228 to her current position as Director, Safety & PMSMS.
Dale Hyrve – Director, Maintenance
Dale is responsible for the supervision and coordination of all maintenance activities and ensures that these activities are accomplished in accordance with the latest policies established by the company, Transport Canada, and the aircraft manufacturers. His team includes highly skill technicians and quality assurance staff.
Dale has 43 years of experience in the aviation industry on everything from small turboprop aircraft to the largest wide body machines. He is a licensed aircraft mechanic, and throughout his career, he has always had a connection with the North in Canada.
Chuck Depew – Director, Flight Operations
Chuck oversees all activities of the company’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC). The flight operations department is comprised of Pilot Operations, Ground Operations, Flight Attendant Operations, and Dispatch Operations.
All of Chuck’s experience in the aviation industry has been gained in Canada’s Arctic, and he holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from McMaster University.
Kim Zenko – Chief Pilot
Kim is responsible for the management of all of Summit Air’s pilots. In his daily duties, Kim also works interactively with Summit Air’s dispatch, ground operations, and flight attendant teams to ensure the operation as a whole is functioning and communicating in accordance with the Company Operations Manual and Transport Canada Regulatory Requirements.
Kim brings over 10,000 hours and 25 years of aviation experience to his role with Summit Air. He has spent his entire career in the Canadian Arctic with over 12 years of experience in senior management roles for 705 operations.
